The Essential Workshop for the ACT Matrix banner

With Kevin Polk and Timothy Gordon

The ACT Matrix is an easy-to-use tool that applies to everything in your clinical practice: working with individuals or groups; using ACT with couples, businesses, and teams; and it will even help bring more effectiveness to your case conceptualizations.

The Matrix is revered for its ability to teach the core principles of ACT in a concise, easy-to-understand way that is immediately applicable. In this intensive online workshop, join the founder of the ACT Matrix, Kevin Polk, and Tim Gordon, a social worker/ACT trainer, and immerse yourself in the ACT Matrix.

Over eight weeks, you will learn how the most complex ACT concepts and basic behavioral science principles can be used with simplicity in your own practice through this simple yet powerful diagram.

In each session Kevin and Tim will engage you with didactic learning, case examples, experiential exercises, and consultation in conceptualizing cases where you’re struggling to apply ACT. You will leave every session with new techniques to try in your practice.

After this training, you will find the Matrix will become your new go-to tool for applying ACT in session. This training is very hands on and experiential, so please come prepared to collaborate with others.

Note: Be sure to have your video camera and audio set up and ready to go before the workshop starts.

In this workshop you will learn how:

  • The matrix and the hexaflex overlap, making the hexaflex easy!
  • To get your team unstuck with a new organizational psychology application of the matrix
  • Empathy is advanced through examining another's matrix
  • To create a combined couples matrix for couples counseling
  • And more

This book will supplement what you learn in this hands-on webinar series so that your learning will go beyond these 8 sessions. Edited by clinical psychologists and popular ACT workshop leaders Kevin L. Polk and Benjamin Schoendorff, The ACT Matrix fuses the six core principles of ACT into a simplified, easy-to-apply approach that focuses on client actions and behavior as workable or unworkable, rather than good or bad. Most importantly, you'll learn how this innovative approach can be used to deliver ACT more effectively in a variety of settings and contexts, even when clients are resistant or unmotivated to participate.

This training is worth 16 CE credit hours if attended live. While we can only provide CE to those who are present  i.e. logged in  for live presentation(s), all Praxis webinars are recorded for later viewing. Registrants may then access these recordings at any time for up to six months from the conclusion of the training to which they pertain.
